Watercolor Inn & Resort Engagement | Gabe + Cassie

Oh my goodness, I am just a little bit excited about this engagement session. Meet Cassie. We were roommates in college and by default best friends, fellow study buddies, “shhh’d” in the library pal and fellow Gilmore girls veggie. (She loved it. I by default watched it. Lol.) That’s not the cool part, though….

She waited for Gabe. No… for real. Cassie didn’t date. Ever. She waited for her someone even despite being sought after in college. And good grief, she was worth being pursued by her someone. She is the sassiest, funniest, wittiest and one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever known!

I have waited so long for Gabe. (Go with me here.. lol) I have waited to see who she would end up with because he was going to have to be someone special. And he is.

Gabe grew up along the Gulf Coast, so it was only fitting for us to shoot their engagement session in Watercolor, Florida! The Watercolor Lakehouse backdrop was perfect for Gabe and the beach at sunset fit Cassie. These two together flowed like they were meant to be.

Where to even start with these two and their Rosemary Beach, Florida engagement portraits? Let's start with how stinking cute they are together! They flow together so easily without even trying!

Taylor (who is the genius behind Hazen & Co) has been coming to Rosemary Beach with her family for years, so naturally this was the perfect backdrop for her and Alex's engagement portraits! They captured the coastal style effortlessly but also the flare of Rosemary perfectly! But what you do you expect when you are a style expert who has been designing jewelry since she was nine years old. ;)

Fine Art 30A Weddings | Triple Crown House Wedding

Under the lights, they danced the night away.

T + C's Triple Crown House wedding in Santa Rosa Beach was magical. The love they have for each other is full of so much grace and gentleness. I loved watching them together!

Destin Photographers | Destin Bay House Wedding | Shawn + Amanda

Shawn and Amanda's wedding day was a mix of tradition, elegance and coastal details! Shawn and his groomsmen got ready at a super cute bed and breakfast in Fort Walton Beach, Florida called Aunt Martha's. This gorgeous house right on the water was the perfect place for getting ready details and portraits (and not to mention the views!). Windows all throughout the house let in amazing natural light which is every photographer's dream!

When I initially met Shawn and Amanda, I was taken back by how calm Amanda was. Her poise was incredible! I immediately felt like I had known her for a while, which made me even more excited to shoot their wedding!

They had their ceremony at St. Mary's Catholic Church and their reception at the Destin Bay House in Destin, Florida. Their day couldn't have been prettier! Every detail from the ceremony to the reception was thoughtfully planned thanks to Amber at Beachside Ceremonies and Events! She absolutely made the whole experience so smooth for Shawn and Amanda, but also the vendors!

One of my favorite parts of  Shawn and Amanda's wedding day was the friendship that they shared with their bridal party. Everyone was so excited for them and cheered them on throughout the whole day!

Haney Family Grayton Beach, Florida Family Film Photographer

Family sessions like the Haney family session in Grayton Beach, Florida remind me of why I love Summertime so much on the Gulf Coast. The punches of color in the sunsets. The laughter of kids as they run up and down the shoreline without a care in the world. It makes my heart come alive!

This crew had all of that! Thank you so much, Haney family, for letting me photograph your flawless family! You made me fall in love with these Summer nights all over again!

Leggett Family Rosemary Beach, Florida Family Photographer

There are many reasons why families from all over come to Rosemary Beach, Florida year after year. The beaches are the best, Rosemary Beach is jaw dropping gorgeous and the coastal vibe here is completely intoxicating.

I will never get tired of photographing families in Rosemary. Ever. The Leggett family was a prime example of why. They were so down to earth, hilarious and loved the white washed houses of Rosemary Beach just as much as I!

Destin Wedding Photographers | Destin FL | Patten + Alyssa
30a wedding photographer

Patten and Alyssa's intimate seaside wedding in Florida was centered on an intimate gathering of their closest family and friends, neutral details and legacy.

It was love at first sight for Patten and Alyssa. After their first date, Alyssa went home and told her best friend that she knew she was going to marry Patten one day.

Fast forward a few years and that is just what they did! Soon after came a precious little girl! They had never had a wedding, and it was Alyssa’s dream to do so when they renewed their vows to each other. She wanted to wear a gorgeous wedding dress, walk down the isle with a bouquet in hand, and make it a destination wedding experience on the beautiful beaches of the Emerald Coast of Florida!

What was once a dream of extensive wedding details and guest lists became a desire to create a special time for their family, and the vows they rewrote for each other.

As Alyssa's father walked her down the aisle, I saw how all of the little visions she had dreamed of had come together into something more beautiful than just the physical surroundings. Everything they chose to do was full of intention and purpose.

Right after they read the vows they rewrote for each other, they asked everyone to come up and surround them and their little girl as they dedicated not only their lives to following Jesus, but also their little girl's life! There was not a dry eye on that beach!

I knew after our initial consultation in which both Alyssa and I teared up during that they were so special, but they were that and more!

Patten & Alyssa, it was such an honor to be a part of this time in your lives. You are leaving a legacy for your family. You left one on me!

A colorful bouquet, sunset portraits, her Father singing during the ceremony and an intimate wedding, surrounded by their closest family and friends was only the beginning. Zachary and Lauren's wedding day was so sweet and SO much fun. I think I laughed harder than ever being in the room with her and her girls as they were finishing getting ready.

And let's just talk about Lauren for a minute... Flawless. Right?! And that bouquet? Killer.

Zachary & Lauren, your wedding was one for the books! Thank you so much for letting me be apart of it and witness it! <3

Our Intimate & European Inspired Wedding | Cory & Kaylie
Olive and European inspired wedding | Kaylie B. Poplin Photography | Crestview, Florida Family & Wedding Photographer

It's such an honor to have Cory and my wedding featured on Style Me Pretty.

Why was this day so special, other than the obvious reason of Cory getting to marry me? ;) I kid. It was because of the small details. All of those small details added up making it a serious dream.

For example, my videographer? None other than my brother-in-law, Andrew Lanier Arts.  My stylist, aka the person who took my vision and brought it to life, stationer and florist was none other than my dear friend and favorite person, Victoria Austin Designs. My photographer? The one that showed up hours before I had booked her for, surprising me at my hotel room, carrying props galore that she knew I loved, the one I love assisting weddings for... oh, her? Yeah, none other than my friend from college, Jennifer Blair. The people that made my hair and makeup look perfect? Those dear friends, Morgan King and Brooke Miller! The bridesmaids and groomsmen that celebrated that day the most with us? Yeah, those were Cory's brothers and my sisters. The person who walked me down the aisle and performed our ceremony? That would be my tear-jerking Dad. The Bible he preached the ceremony from? It was one that he had made with Cory and my name on it, for us to have for years to come.

That, my friend, is what makes a wedding more than a Pinterest fest. Those details make it a day that you remember and cherish, even when the dress, colors and vision are one day out of style.
